Help your lost pet find its way back home
Micochipping your pet is a inexpensive permanent way to make sure your pet returns to you if he or she gets lost. Microchips are about the size of a grain of rice and are placed under the skin (via injection) between the shoulder blades of your pet. There is no pain and no side effects to having the microchip implanted which means it can be done during a normal office visit. Your contact information is then stored in a national database. (It is important that you update your contact information when you move, change phone numbers, etc.) If your pet is lost and picked up by animal control, or taken to a veterinary facility their chip number can be read with a handheld scanner and they can quickly be back in the comfort of your home.
